What our guests are saying!
We just returned from a 3 night stay (wish it were MORE). Yak Ridge was amazing. The cabins were very nice with a lot of little extras. When we arrived there were fresh eggs from the chickens and cheese in the fridge, smore supplies ready to go and coffee ready to be brewed. Our kids also loved the hike up the rocks and hill. If we ever find ourself in the Blackhills again we will for sure stay here.Michael
Yak Ridge was like a little slice of heaven on Earth during our recent family trip, traveling by car from MN. We spent as much time climbing the hills on the property as we did on the area attractions. Loved it so much we literally lost track of time. Thank you so much, Julie!Kathy
We absolutely LOVE Yak Ridge! The cabins are BEYOND comfortable and so fun and convenient for our family of 5. Julie was so helpful and accommodating. The cabins have everything you need for a family, just bring your food! We enjoyed our time; I would recommend to any family looking for somewhere where their kids can play, where you can comfortably cook, and still be close to everything available in the area! Wish we would have discovered Yak Ridge sooner!.Leah
Beautiful, Cozy Cabin in the Woods
We stayed in this lovely cabin for over a week. It was the perfect size for two adults. It included all of the comforts of home. We were able to use the outdoor grill and the cute kitchen to cook our meals. The kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, and other necessary cooking/baking supplies. Be sure to look closely in the flowerpots, because there are several herbs that can be used for cooking or flavoring your hot tea. The cabin had a comfortable bed and love-seat, so we could kick off our shoes and relax after a busy day of traveling around the area. The cabin is in a perfect location. It is near sights such as Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Custer State Park. It was very easy to access the main roads, but it was quiet since the cabin is nestled behind a large hill that blocked out the traffic noise. We enjoyed seeing the deer, wild turkeys, and other animals walking around the property. I highly recommend staying in one of the Yak Ridge Cabins. We look forward to returning in the future!Elissa
We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights recently. Our expectations of the place were surpassed once we got to the cabin. The cabin was spotless and there were even fresh condiments in the fridge along with a bowl of fruit, chocolates, fresh eggs and coffee. There was also packets of hot chocolate available (kids loved that!) and tea. Even though there are 2 other cabins close by, the orientation of the cottages creates a sense of privacy. There is that sense of privacy and remoteness, yet your only a 5 minute drive into Keystone. All the comforts of home were provided. We will definitely be back!Travis
We had an excellent stay at Yak Ridge. The location was central to the sights and close to most everything we wanted to see. The cabin was clean and updated and very welcoming. Julie, our host, had thought of everything- there was a picnic basket with complimentary s’mores fixings, farm fresh eggs and fruit waiting for us. Outside we had our own fire pit and grill, and the cabin was secluded enough that my kids could safely ride bikes and explore the hills right outside. Firewood was available to purchase and she had the lighter and starter in the cabin for us. Anything we could have needed in the kitchen was there and was clean. Cleanup was easy, not a huge long checklist like we’ve had at other cabins. Keyless entry was also extremely convenient. We felt very well taken care of. I highly recommend staying here, we will definitely be back.Ashleigh
